Rammelt (with Vlad Bujdei-Tebeica) from Școala Națională de Studii Politice și Administrative - SNSPA spoke about populism in authoritarian regime contexts at the University of Fribourg Switzerland - another stop at this university, following an earlier workshop in October.Item description

Members of the ProTest team in Italy, Davide Rocchetti and Andrea L. P. Pirro from Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna, participated at the IPB Annual Conference in Bremen 1-2 October, 2025. The conference in Bremen also featured Philipp Srama from Forschungsstelle Osteuropa Bremen, who presented a case study on the local dynamics of migration-related protest.

ProTest team visited University of Fribourg Switzerland. Henry P. Rammelt and Claudiu Craciun from Școala Națională de Studii Politice și Administrative - SNSPA will talk about interactions between social movements and political parties in post-2024 Romania at the "Resistance and Opposition Beyond Institutions" international workshop.

Scholars of social movements in Central and Eastern Europe gathered at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology (Polish Academy of Sciences) for the conference “Empirical Research on Protests and Social Movements in CEE: State of the Art”.
Piotr Kocyba, Magdalena Muszel, and Alicja Palęcka presented “Before and After the Change of Government in Poland - Influence on Left-wing and Right-wing Protest”. They discussed how different protest camps adjust their strategies, emotions, and public communication in a polarized context, drawing on interviews with activists and analyses of their online and offline practices.
